Our object has been “The Advancement of Christ’s Kingdom into all the World”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Years ago John Wesley said "It seems that God is limited by our prayer life - that He can do nothing for humanity until someone asks".
oooooooooooooooooooooo
We are coming up to our 57th Birthday on July 1st. and express grateful thanks to all those who have contributed in prayer, money, supplies and resources, this past year and in earlier times. Most cheque donations are paid to me personally and cleared through my account.
Some people wishing to add Gift Aid pay through Saffron Walden Baptist Church and then cheques are paid to specific charities we work through.
Some of our work is with small churches in Ethiopia; Ghana and Zambia that are not registered NGO's or charities so we need to pay them through the banks or Moneygramme or postal orders by registered post.
We now have a Bank Deposit Current Account to encash cheques to The Lighthouse Prayer Ministry at Lloyds TSB. .
As we receive news of new needs and maybe recruit new support perhaps we should consider establishing a Committee of Trustees and if the work grows further maybe we should consider applying for registered charity status..
With my kind regards John E Maddams
Why Jesus came --- to enlighten the people of this world, transform them by the renewing of their minds
And reconcile them with God , His Father.
=============================================================================
As recorded in John‘s Gospel chapter 12 verses 44, and 46-50
,
Jesus said “He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on Him who sent me,
I am come, a light into the world, that whoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.
And if any person hears my words and does not believe, I do not judge him, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
He that rejects me and does not receive my words , has one that judges him: the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; therefore what ever I speak . Even as the Father said to me, so I speak.
During last year we were able to send help to
We have between us paid the first and second terms of 2011 and need £250 to pay the last term and he will need £750 a year for several years until they finish school. We suggested that he formed a co-operative NGO with other orphan carers and volunteer trainers, and he has done this and it is called Nchelenge Aids Orphans Education Mission and some friends here have funded freight costs of £610 for Tools With A Mission to send him equipment to set up a Training Centre. Once established it will train them daily after school in trades that within 2 years can make the centre self supportive from the sale of goods produced. Included in the deal are computers, printers, typewriters, sewing machines, 5 bicycles, repair kits, 3 wheelchairs, and various trade kits and garden implements. They have sent 2 containers to Zambia this year and several last, so these should be going later this year.
We would like also to receive for him £320 specifically to supply 40 local language Bibles in large print for elderly believers on an island on Lake Mweru on the Northern border with the Democratic Republic of Congo which he can arrange to take over by ferry. CELEBRATING THE 400th ANNIVERSARY
#############################################
of the first publication of the King James Authorised Version Bible in 1611
In February St Mary's Parish Church Saffron Walden was packed with several hundred Anglican people and a small number of heretics - Quaker, Baptist, Brethren, to hear a lecture by a Cambridge Don about The Impact of the King James Version of the Bible known as the AV, which for all it's archaic language little understood today in Britain, remains the most accurate to the original languages of Hebrew and Greek of all the 350 English versions of the Bible.
Interestingly too there have been over 1000 English translations of the New Testament or of particular books of the Bible. It's language style was old fashioned and out of date before it was even published and it was not popular at the time.
The public preference was the 1560 Geneva Bible, a truly Protestant Reformed Church Study Bible and widely used as a Family Bible by the 20-40 per cent of the population able to read. The GB had chapters, verses, illustrations, maps, commentary, dictionary and notes. Some of the notes were critical of Roman Catholc and Anglican doctrine and clerical practice which led to it being officially banned by King and Archbishop. Which of course only served to encourage it's wider use. The GB passed through 150 editions but was last printed in 1630. It took the AV over 100 years to replace it in popularity and the edition still in use is the 1769 4th Revision in which the punctuation was corrected.
We must never forget that The Roman Catholic Church in 1408 made it a heresy to translate the Bible into English and anyone doing so was subjected to the death penalty and burnt alive. Only the Latin Bible was permitted But English people resent being ordered about by foriegners and rebelled against the Pope and papal laws, which were not of God, but of Satan. That immoral indecent unChristian law was revoked in 1604 in Protestant Britain. From the 2nd Vatican Council in the 20th century, the reformed Roman Cstholic Church also lifted the ban ..
He has been living at Sudak by the Black Sea coast, on the Crimean peninsula working 14 hour days selling souvenirs to the tourists and camping in a tent. Each evening he has been reading the English Bible we sent him. In a second hand clothing shop he found a Welsh Bible and now wants to learn Welsh. Can anyone help provide for him a Welsh Primer Manual and a Welsh Dictionary or even one in Irish, Gaelic or other Celtic language.
We have between us paid the first and second terms of 2011 and need £250 to pay the last term and he will need £750 a year for several years until they finish school. We suggested that he formed a co-operative NGO with other orphan carers and volunteer trainers, and he has done this and it is called Nchelenge Aids Orphans Education Mission and some friends here have funded freight costs of £610 for Tools With A Mission to send him equipment to set up a Training Centre. Once established it will train them daily after school in trades that within 2 years can make the centre self supportive from the sale of goods produced. Included in the deal are computers, printers, typewriters, sewing machines, 5 bicycles, repair kits, 3 wheelchairs, and various trade kits and garden implements. They have sent 2 containers to Zambia this year and several last, so these should be going later this year.
We would like also to receive for him £320 specifically to supply 40 local language Bibles in large print for elderly believers on an island on Lake Mweru on the Northern border with the Democratic Republic of Congo which he can arrange to take over by ferry. a Christian, who is alone, with no family, homeless, ill, and has had our address about 11 years given by a friend who got it from someone else. Having sold his mattress and 2 chairs to pay a herbalist for medicines all he has left is a Bible and a bed but no where to put it, and nothing else. We sent him 11 addresses of people I know in Zambia hoping that one of them might be able to help but none can. He just wanders the streets and from time to time gets temporary lodging. We sent him money to rent a room for 13 weeks to try to get re-established but he had become ill and it all went on hospital fees.
BIBLE YEAR 2011
##########################
CELEBRATING THE 400th ANNIVERSARY
#############################################
of the first publication of the King James Authorised Version Bible in 1611
In February St Mary's Parish Church Saffron Walden was packed with several hundred Anglican people and a small number of heretics - Quaker, Baptist, Brethren, to hear a lecture by a Cambridge Don about The Impact of the King James Version of the Bible known as the AV, which for all it's archaic language little understood today in Britain, remains the most accurate to the original languages of Hebrew and Greek of all the 350 English versions of the Bible.
Interestingly too there have been over 1000 English translations of the New Testament or of particular books of the Bible. It's language style was old fashioned and out of date before it was even published and it was not popular at the time.
The public preference was the 1560 Geneva Bible, a truly Protestant Reformed Church Study Bible and widely used as a Family Bible by the 20-40 per cent of the population able to read. The GB had chapters, verses, illustrations, maps, commentary, dictionary and notes. Some of the notes were critical of Roman Catholc and Anglican doctrine and clerical practice which led to it being officially banned by King and Archbishop. Which of course only served to encourage it's wider use. The GB passed through 150 editions but was last printed in 1630. It took the AV over 100 years to replace it in popularity and the edition still in use is the 1769 4th Revision in which the punctuation was corrected.
We must never forget that The Roman Catholic Church in 1408 made it a heresy to translate the Bible into English and anyone doing so was subjected to the death penalty and burnt alive. Only the Latin Bible was permitted But English people resent being ordered about by foriegners and rebelled against the Pope and papal laws, which were not of God, but of Satan. That immoral indecent unChristian law was revoked in 1604 in Protestant Britain. From the 2nd Vatican Council in the 20th century, the reformed Roman Cstholic Church also lifted the ban ..
